From the bride, Nicole: “ Sumit and I come from very different backgrounds and I wanted this wedding to meaningfully celebrate that. People would be coming from all over – India, Puerto Rico, Mexico, the UK, etc. – so we wanted the celebration to help everyone learn more about us and for it to be really, really fun. Throughout the weekend, we thought of different ways to bring personal touches to every moment and have venues that would represent our different sides and help people explore Miami.
One of my favorite places in the world in Miami is Vizcaya, which I originally discovered when I was fourteen with one of my future bridesmaids. When Sumit proposed, I immediately wondered if Vizcaya did weddings because it is truly the most romantic and beautiful place in Miami. It wasn’t difficult to convince everyone else that it would make for an unforgettable venue!
For Friday, we were excited about doing a traditional Indian Sangeet. We wanted to show our guests a different side of Miami instead of the beaches, so Wynwood, one of our favorite Miami neighborhoods, was the perfect choice, especially because all the colors of this artsy area made for an incredible backdrop for the colorful Indian-inspired décor. The venue had a Royal Poinciana tree that reminded Sumit’s Mom of where she grew up in India.”
