They say traveling makes a man richer. I recently finished reading The Alchemist during my travels in Costa Rica by Paolo Coehlo. The story is about a young Andalusian shepherd named Santiago and his journey to Egypt, after having a recurring dream of finding treasure there. He talks about his longing for traveling the world and decided that he would pursue his personal legend. “I don’t live in either my past or my future. I’m interested only in the present. If you can concentrate always on the present, you’ll be a happy man. Life will be a party for you, a grand festival, because life is the moment we’re living now.” I was lucky enough to be invited to Costa Rica last year to photograph one of Cartier’s special events in Guanacaste. I didn’t have a chance to really see everything I wanted while I was there since I was working, and although I captured some beautiful photos and had a blast, I knew I would need to return to this beautiful land. A few months ago I was invited to go to Guanacaste again by one of my dearest friends Amanda, Wow! Another one of my favorite quotes from The Alchemist “And, when you want something, all the universe conspires in helping you to achieve it.”  I’m sure I’ll return to Costa Rica again, I’m not quite done exploring this treasure.
